Chairs & Directors
The chair is the chief academic and administrative officer of the department and reports to the Dean of the College. The chair leads the department in managing operations, faculty matters, and mentorign/advising.
Chairs are appointed by the Dean of the College, in consultation with faculty members of the respective departments, and typically serve a three year term, which may be renewed given agreement of both the dean and the chair.
Department Administration
With the responsibility of overseeing department administration, Chairs rely primarily on the lead staff member which in most instances will be an Academic Department Administrator (the ADA), to oversee the annual cycle of programs, events, processes and deadlines.
