Research & Supervised Courses

Information for Spring 2020

Undergraduate Research, Independent Study, Directed Study, and Directed Reading Courses

Instructors of these courses should communicate with enrolled students as soon as possible regarding course completion. In some cases, the move to online instruction will have limited impact on students work or the assessment of the work.  In other cases, such as undergraduate research courses in laboratory sciences or creative areas, faculty and students may need to make adjustments to established work plans and deliverables.  Examples of alternative assignments might include writing assignments, literature reviews, research proposals, and written critiques.   In cases where adjustments are needed, faculty mentors should communicate with students about any changes and include information about how the work will be assessed.
