In addition to providing financial support for education, research, and specialized training, these programs connect Emory students and alumni with likeminded peers and mentors, provide opportunities for leadership development, and expand their vision of what is possible.  

Rhodes Scholars

Selected on the basis of outstanding scholarly achievements, character, commitment to the common good, and potential for leadership, Rhodes Scholars from around the world pursue degrees in any field available at the University of Oxford,  gaining rigorous academic training and a worldwide network of emerging leaders.

Marshall Scholars

The Marshall Scholarship supports graduate study across the UK, offering academic flexibility, cultural immersion, and a vibrant community of emerging global leaders.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

Each year, recent Emory graduates and current graduate students travel abroad to conduct research, undertake graduate degrees, and teach English through the support of the Fulbright US Student Program.

Supported by the US State Department and binational commissions and foundations abroad, the Fulbright program expands perspectives through academic and professional advancement and cross-cultural dialogue.With grants available to over 150 countries, Emory students and recent graduates can find the ideal opportunity to further their language training, research, professional preparation, and community-based leadership.

Recent recipients have pursued diverse paths, including graduate education in animation, public health, translation, and nutrition sciences at universities in the U.K. and Portugal; English teaching roles in elementary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions in countries like Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Romania, Greece, and Spain; and to conduct independent research in a variety of fields from biomedical sciences to music composition. Emory has been recognized for nine consecutive years as a top-producing institution for Fulbright grants. 

Critical Language Scholarship
Dozens of Emory students have traveled the globe with CLS, a fully-funded summer program that transforms beginner and intermediate language learners into fluent speakers with immersion equal to a year of study.

Schwarzman Scholars

Schwarzman Scholars provides a fully funded year in Beijing at Tsinghua University, equipping future leaders with cultural fluency, global leadership training, and a powerful international network.
