FAQs for Parents and Families

Move-in dates will be announced soon! Depending on where you live, you may choose to arrive the night before Move-in and stay in a hotel. If you live a little closer to Atlanta, you might choose to arrive on the morning of Move-in. This is entirely up to you!
Our parent and family events occur, primarily, over the summer. However, we will offer some parent and family events during both Move-in days. Keep in mind that our approach is intentional to allow you to focus on helping your student settle in!
More information coming soon!
We encourage parents and family members to make arrangements that work best for your individual situation as you plan your trip to Atlanta in August. Although Emory does not endorse or guarantee locations, you can view a list of hotels in the nearby area here.
There are restaurants located in Emory Village that are within walking distance to campus if you're looking to get a meal with your student without having to get back in the car! Also very close by are restaurants in Emory Point, which is located next to the Emory Conference Center Hotel. There are many other restaurants within just a few minutes of campus, so as you plan your visit, we encourage you to review this list of area restaurants.

For more information about shipping items prior to Move-in Day, please visit the Emory University Mail Services website and review their Fall 2023 Move In Instructions bulletin.
