Updates and Messages


Over the summer, New Student Programs will send bi-weekly communication with updates and information to help prepare new students for the transition to Emory. Once we begin communication for the 2023-2024 school year, you will find an archive of messages sent both to students and families on this page.

Our bi-weekly communication includes important new student updates, reminders of upcoming deadlines, and a peek inside life at Emory, so it's important that your contact information is updated within Emory's systems to ensure that you receive all University communications. See below for instructions:

Updating Contact Information in OPUS

To help keep you on track all summer and ultimately prepare you for August, please see the steps below to provide Emory the most up-to-date contact information for you and your family so we can contact you AND your family can access important information.  

Step One: Update Your Details in OPUS

  1. Log in to OPUS (opus.emory.edu) using your Emory NetID and password.
  2. Click on the “Profile” tile, then update your and your family members’ contact information:
    • Select “Email and Phone Numbers.” Review and update if needed. Click “Save” to submit changes.
    • Select “Parent/Guardian Addresses.” Review and update if needed. Click “Save” to submit changes.
  3. If you would like to give OPUS access to someone else (such as a parent); click the “Profile” tile, then select “Guest Access.”
    • You can create up to 5 guest accounts. Each will receive a unique username and password.
    • You can determine which actions each guest can perform: making payments, completing the health insurance waiver, viewing charges and financial aid details, accessing academic information, etc.

Step Two: Update Your Applicant Portal Information

  1. Log in to Emory’s Applicant Portal (apply.emory.edu/status).
  2. Scroll to “Account Tools” and click on “Change Email Address.” It is important to save a personal email address NOT related to your high school.

Step Three: Sign Up for the Parent Portal

  1. For family members looking to connect, go to the Parent Portal (https://campusesp.com).
  2. Click “Sign up.”
  3. Fill out information under “Let’s Get Started” to create your account.
