Nursing Program Overview
The Dual Degree Program in Nursing allows students to combine a liberal arts education with a nursing degree from Emory University. The participating student will attend Emory College of Arts & Sciences for three years and the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (NHWSN) at Emory University for two years. Upon completion of the academic requirements of both schools, the student will receive a Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA or BS) degree from Emory College of Arts and Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. Both degrees will be conferred by Emory University.
Student Advising
Students who intend to apply to the Dual Degree Program in Nursing are advised to contact the Pre-Health Advising Office in Emory College to discuss meeting the prerequisites for the program. Students are encouraged to take this step as early as possible. Students can use School of Nursing Interest Form to signal their intent.
Advisors in Pre-Health Advising will help students plan a course of study that fulfills the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing prerequisites, and all the requirements for the BA/BS degree to be awarded by Emory College.
Application
In order to be eligible for the Dual Degree in Nursing Program, students must complete and submit the Intention to Pursue the Dual Degree Program at Emory University form no later than February 1st of your second year at Emory College.
Students who meet all of these requirements will be assured of admission into the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing after their third year of study.
