Georgia Tech Transfer

Students who are applying to the Dual Degree program with Georgia Tech are technically applying as transfer students. Detailed information on the transfer process can be found on the Georgia Tech Transfer website.

TRANSFER APPLICATION TO GEORGIA TECH

Complete the Georgia Tech Transfer Application and pay the application fee online by the appropriate application deadline. As part of this process you will submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have ever attended.

PLEASE NOTE:

If you have attended another college or university other than Emory or Oxford College at Emory University, it is necessary for you to send those official transcripts as well. For institutions outside the USA, a course-by-course with GPA evaluation from either Josef Silny or World Education Services is mandatory.

The evaluation should be sent directly to:

Office of Undergraduate Admission
Georgia Institute of Technology
Atlanta, GA 30332-0320

You will need your coordinator’s name when you apply. Your dual degree coordinator is your Emory University dual degree advisor (currently Dr Cora MacBeth, Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education). Dean MacBeth will be emailed the recommendation form so it is very important that you complete the application with her name and email address ( cmacbet@emory.edu.)

Note: Please print a copy of your Georgia Tech Transfer Application for your records.

AP/TRANSFER CREDIT

If you have been awarded AP credit for any of the Tech required courses, Tech will award course credit if the AP course credit appears on your Emory transcript. Visit the Georgia Tech Transfer Credit website for minimum required scores.

To see how previous course work will transfer from other universities, please use the Transfer Equivalency table. Any courses not listed on the table, must be evaluated by the appropriate academic department at Tech before credit can be awarded.

WRITING SAMPLE

Emory’s ENGRD 101 and CPLT 101 courses are accepted equivalent courses for the required GT ENGL 1101. If you would like to have a writing sample from one of your continuing writing courses evaluated for GT English1102 credit, please follow the below process after you have submitted your online transfer application.
  1. Request English evaluation via Buzzport login
  2. Upload course information (course description and syllabus as one document)
  3. Upload writing sample (The writing sample should be a minimum 20 pages.)
(Please note Georgia tech will only evaluate writing samples for admitted students.)
