The Voluntary Core Curriculum Program is an initiative of a group of Emory faculty who are committed to ensuring that Emory students have the opportunity to choose to take a course of study that introduces them to the great works of the Western tradition and the questions that have traditionally been at the center of an education in the liberal arts. The program thus far has been partially underwritten by several foundations and interested alumni. At present our most pressing need is for additional support that would allow us to expand the number of sections of Great Works courses we can offer.
