The SURE program is a ten-week summer program during which undergraduate research fellows conduct full-time independent research under the direction of a faculty mentor. SURE research encompasses all backgrounds and disciplines, including the arts, business, humanities, social sciences, and stem.
Student researchers benefit from hands-on research, mentorship, networking opportunities, and graduate school preparation.
Summer researchers receive a housing award for residence on the Emory campus and a stipend to support their full-time attention to research training and professional development.
The SURE program is available on the Atlanta and Oxford campuses. Students should apply to the program hosted on their campus.

Benefits - Participants in the SURE Program receive a one-time monetary stipend via direct deposit.
Housing - Each SURE participant will be offered free campus housing (a room in the 4 BR suites in Clairmont Campus housing).
Participants may choose to live off-campus. However, housing award funds are not transferable for other off-campus accommodations.

Yes, SURE is open to all majors; however, SURE research projects do not have to coincide with your major. SURE provides students the opportunity to explore research in other disciplines.
The program is designed to support students currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. You are not eligible for the summer research program if your bachelor's degree has been awarded before the program ends.
Due to the research requirements and activities, SURE participants cannot enroll for summer school nor Maymester.
Notifications will be sent via email early March. Accepted students must confirm participation within a week of receiving their offer.
