Third Year Students

Third-year students have now selected a major, found advising support within the department as well as through the Office for Undergraduate Education and have developed strong ties to the Emory community. Most third-year students are looking forward to becoming independent after graduation by using the resources of the Career Center to find internships, develop their CVs and explore possible careers. Many are engaged in research opportunities on campus and planning to study abroad.

The third year is also a year of transition for our students who are continuing from the Oxford campus to the Atlanta campus. The intimate environment of the campus at Oxford is exchanged for the larger and more complex Atlanta campus but the close friendships continue while new ones are formed. In order to assist these students in transition, the dean of the Junior Class (Dean Newby) is available to help with the transition through advising and supporting links to new opportunities, to consult with students in an advising capacity or as a link to the resources around campus. Additional resources for Oxford Continuees can also be found in our Advising: Oxford Continuees section of this website.
