  • Commitment to teaching American history, American government, or social studies in grades 7-12 for one full academic year for each year of aid received under a fellowship
  • Commitment to attending the Summer Institute on the Constitution

The James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation supports individuals desiring to become outstanding teachers of the American Constitution at the secondary school level. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to a career teaching American history, American government, or social studies at the secondary level, intend to pursue and complete a masters-level graduate program that emphasizes the Constitution, and have demonstrated outstanding capacity for performance as classroom teachers and in their proposed courses of graduate study.
