Award provides: Five years of full tuition equivalent and a personal stipend of up to $40,000 per year

  • Be willing to make a moral commitment to making the applicant’s skills available to the United States in time of national emergency

The Hertz Foundation supports the graduate education of students who can be expected to have the greatest impact on the application of the physical sciences to human problems during the next half-century. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional intelligence and creativity, commitment to the applications of the physical sciences, and extraordinary accomplishment in technical or related professional studies.
