While at Emory, Shivani was active with Barkley Forum, the Emory Culinary Club, Sexual Assault Peer Advocates, Sigma Delta Tau, and the Global Health Institute. She was an Emory Scholar and recipient of the Department of Sociology Top Student Award, and served as a Sociology Peer Mentor and a Chemistry Supplemental instructor. She also served as director and producer of the Vagina Monologues for three consecutive years.
