Mckayla Morrison Peer Ambassador, National Scholarships & Fellowships Program

 

Biography

Mckayla Morrison is a fourth-year student double majoring in African American Studies and Sociology.

At Emory, she is engaged in her passion for research as a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow and African American Studies Honors Student. Her research interests primarily include Black feminist studies, police brutality, and mass incarceration. She has also worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Religion and Lead Research Assistant in the Department of Anthropology. Upon graduation, Mckayla plans to take a gap year before continuing her education by pursuing a PhD in African American Studies. Mckayla was accepted into the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program her junior year and applied for the Beinecke Scholarship in the Spring of 2023.
