Graduate Assistant Position

The Emory College National Scholarships & Fellowships Program seeks a graduate assistant to provide general program support and event planning support from July 2022 to August 2023 (with the possibility of renewal for 2023-24). Responsibilities will include serving as an interview and meeting note-taker, assisting with tasks related to event planning (e.g. scheduling, communication, event logistics, program design, social media), providing general proofreading and copy-editing support to full-time program staff, and assisting with advising activities for students and alumni interested in nationally-competitive awards.

The graduate assistant will be expected to work approximately 10 hours per week beginning July 25, 2022, continuing through the fall semester and spring semester, and approximately 20 hours per week during summer 2023, which will include on-site support for the 2023 National Association of Fellowships Advisors (NAFA) biennial conference in New Orleans, July 11-14, 2023. Compensation will be $20/hour plus travel expenses for the conference.

The ideal candidate to fill the Graduate Program Assistant role is an advanced graduate student with prior experience in event planning, editing, and/or training as a writing instructor or tutor. An interest in learning more about the work of fellowship advising is helpful, though the primary responsibilities for this role will be focused on program administration and event planning.
