As Director of the National Scholarships & Fellowships Program in the Pathways Center, Megan Friddle oversees the selection process for internal and external merit-based awards. Combining her enthusiasm for undergraduate advising with training in interdisciplinary research design and writing pedagogy, Dr. Friddle matches high-achieving students with the resources they need to pursue global opportunities for research, study, and professional training. She currently serves as President of the National Association of Fellowships Advisors (NAFA).
Dr. Friddle received her MA and PhD in American Studies from Emory University’s Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts after completing an MFA in English-Creative Writing at the Pennsylvania State University and a BA in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College. Her academic research has focused on narrative and self-identity in American culture. At the college level, she has taught rhetoric and composition, creative writing, and interdisciplinary writing-intensive courses on a variety of topics, including the history of childhood and adolescence, cultural memory in the United States, and disability studies. After serving as an academic adviser to undergraduate students in the liberal arts and graduate students in public health, Dr. Friddle joined the National Scholarships & Fellowships Program in 2013.
