How do I declare a major and when should I do this?

You should declare your major during your sophomore year and by the Declaration of Major deadline. Visit the office of the academic department in which you plan to major to complete the Declaration of Major form. You will be assigned a faculty advisor who will help you plan courses for your major. See Majors & Minors for more information. If you are still undecided by the Declaration of Major deadline, you may complete the Undecided Major form and turn it in to White Hall 300.

Students must maintain at least a C (2.0) average in any major or minor they complete. Requirements for majors are listed under departmental and divisional statements in the College Catalog.

Students in the Class of 2015 should declare a major by Friday, February 22, 2012. If you have applied to the Business School, to the Nursing School or are still undecided by this date, please complete the Undecided Major Form and return it to White Hall 300 by Friday, February 22, 2012.
