Students at Emory are encouraged to seek out summer internships, whether in the US or globally- regardless of their major, career aspirations, or prior work experience. To assist with the search, the Career Center can provide access to job boards, interview preparation, networking opportunities, and one-on-one appointments with Career Coaches. The Pathways Center also offers one-time funding awards to cover internship expenses for all Emory undergraduates. For internships in the US, students can apply for up to $3,000 to cover their expenses. For internships abroad, students can apply for up to $4,000. Students who have completed ECS-102, The Liberal Arts Edge, can apply for up to $5,000. Eligible internships must be at least 240 hours and 8 weeks long.
The D. Abbott Turner Program in Ethics and Servant Leadership (EASL) is designed for students who want to engage in community service and bring awareness to ethical needs either here at Emory or in the greater Atlanta area. EASL provides opportunities during the summer for students to gain hands-on experience by working with non-profits in the Atlanta area. The work done with EASL often leads to job connections and opportunities beyond undergraduate education. The EASL summer internship program offers a paid stipend for students. Applications are open from February 1 - March 1, 2023.
