The International Research Experience for Science Students provides summer grants for students to work in a science research experience outside of the US. The program is funded by a collaborative effort between URP and the Office of International and Summer Programs (OISP). The program provides directed study to help prepare students for the summer experience and provides a stipend. Students may select a lab in any country of their choosing.

Students must:
  • Have at least one year of undergraduate research
  • Find a mentor/PI in another country that is willing to host them for a period of 8 weeks in the summer
  • Submit a proposal describing the research they will conduct in their lab abroad
  • Fulfill OISP’s requirements for going abroad
  • Upload weekly blogs sharing their experiences
