Support, Personal Growth and Networking

First-year Emory Scholars are matched with a Scholars Faculty Advisor who offers an enriched advising experience. Each semester, Scholars participate in planning and reflection activities that aid in their personal growth and decision-making. There are also ongoing opportunities for networking and community building through interactions with faculty, alumni, and Scholar peers.

Scholars Lounge

The Emory Scholars Lounge is a private lounge environment on campus that serves as both a social gathering place for engaging conversation with Scholar peers as well as a study space. Informal mentoring and support between Scholar peers takes place daily in the Lounge as well as during Emory Scholar programming. Lounge amenities include: coffee, tea, hot chocolate and light snacks as well as a computer and a printer.

Scholar Fellows

Scholar Fellows are current Scholars who work in the Scholars Lounge and serve as ambassadors to the Scholars community, assisting with Scholar-Led Events, community building, Scholar communications, Scholar feedback, and other responsibilities. Fellows work closely with the Emory Scholars Program full-time staff to support the operations of the Program. Scholars who have completed one year as an Emory Scholar can apply to be a Scholar Fellow.

Conference Travel Grants

Emory Scholars are eligible to apply for a Travel Grant to cover up to $500 in travel expenses if they are presenting at a conference or national meeting. Applicants are asked to seek matching funds from their academic department and other research centers on campus. Scholars may receive one travel grant per academic year.
