Melissa Tarrant, EdD Assistant Dean

An Assistant Dean, Melissa Tarrant has oversight of Pre-Health Advising, which provides programming and advising for students interested pursing a professional health program after graduation from Emory.  She also oversees Student Support, including the EPASS peer tutoring and mentoring program, and works on retentions and progression initiatives. She serves on the Committee on Academic Standards.

Dean Tarrant previously served as Director of Research at the Georgia Independent College Association in Atlanta.  Prior to that, she was the Director of Advising at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. She earned her BA and MA in English from Baylor University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama.  She has over 30 years of higher education experience in academic advising, student support, institutional research and university administration.
