Tammy is a Senior Associate Director and Learning Specialist for the Office for Undergraduate Education in Emory College of Arts and Sciences. She meets with undergraduate students individually to develop skills and strategies that will promote efficiency and effectiveness on academic tasks. She works closely together with each student to explore needs and identify unique learning characteristics and suggests methods that will promote academic excellence. Tammy also assists students in defining their learning goals and creating individualized plans to reach their academic potential. In addition to being a Learning Specialist, Tammy is also the program coordinator for the Academic Fellows Program, a peer-mentorship program for international students.

Tammy is currently working to obtain her PhD at Georgia State University in Educational Psychology. She has an interest in metacognitive judgments, self-efficacy, and test-taking anxiety. She plans on conducting a calibration study to look at the distance between students’ perceived levels of understanding versus their demonstrated levels of understanding.
