International Student Welcome

Welcome and congratulations on your acceptance to Emory College of Arts and Sciences!

What is International Student Welcome?

The International Student Welcome (ISW) is a special pre-orientation program designed for students that have grown up primarily or exclusively outside the United States. Students attending Emory on an F1 visa are required to attend. Students who are green card holders, dual citizens, and who attended high school abroad are also invited to attend. The ISW provides these students with additional information not included in general orientation that we feel will help them transition more easily to Emory and life in the U.S.

When is the International Student Welcome?

Due to safety guidelines related to COVID-19, the International Student Welcome (ISW) will be fully virtual for 2020. The ISW will be held from Wednesday, August 5, 2020, through Friday, August 7, 2020. To accommodate for various global time zones, participants have the option to choose one of two time tracks: 8:30 – 11:30AM EST and 6:30- 9:30PM EST.

How can I register for the International Student Welcome?

In order to attend, pre-registration is required. You can access the registration form below. Registration closes on Friday, July 24, 2020.

Is International Student Welcome required?

It is required for all students attending Emory on an F1 visa. Because international identity is not necessarily defined by citizenship, we welcome green card holders, dual citizens, and those who attended high school abroad, but it is not required for these students.

Is there a cost to attend the International Student Welcome?

No, due to the fact that the International Student Welcome will be held virtually this year, there is no fee associated with attending.
