- Have a GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Be seeking admission to a two-year graduate program at a US university
- Be willing to commit to a minimum of five years of service as a Foreign Service Officer
The Charles B. Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program prepares young professionals for careers in the Foreign Service. Applicants must have strong academic records, demonstrated interest in foreign affairs, and a commitment to serving their country and promoting positive change globally. The fellowship provides up to $47,500 annually towards educational expenses for a master’s degree in international affairs or another area relevant to the Foreign Service, extensive mentoring, two summer internships, and placement with the Foreign Service following degree completion. Applicants must have outstanding academic records, significant service and extracurricular involvement, outstanding leadership skills, and demonstrated interest in foreign affairs. Applicants from groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need are especially encouraged to apply.
