- Applicants must apply to a PhD (three year research-only degree), one year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MBA, Diploma, etc.), or two year research-only degree (MSc or MLitt) at the University of Cambridge
Gates Cambridge Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Applicants must have an outstanding academic record (the average GPA of Gates Scholars is 3.92), demonstrated intellectual distinction as evidenced by previous honors, awards, or recognitions, strong preparation for the proposed field of graduate study, and will have been ranked by Cambridge departments as the most academically outstanding applicants in a given year. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate a strong fit between the interests and abilities of the applicant and the graduate program selected by the applicant. Applicants must also demonstrate proven leadership capacity and the ability to use knowledge to contribute to society through service.
