Summer Bushman Alumni Ambassador, National Scholarships & Fellowships Program

 

Biography 

Summer is an alum of Oxford College and Emory University, who graduated with a double major in Biology and French Studies in May 2022. She was active on-campus, serving on the executive board of an Asian-American advocacy club, called APIDAA, and an environmental justice club, called ECAST. She also served as President of Emory's Model United Nations team (EIRA), and as President of Oxford's Student Activities Committee. Summer completed an honor's thesis on microbiology research at Emory's School of Medicine. After graduation, Summer is completing a Fulbright Research Grant at the Luxembourg Institute of Health. In addition to Fulbright, she has also applied for many scholarships through the NS&FP office, such as Goldwater, Truman, Udall, and NSF GRFP. In the fall of 2023, Summer will be attending Vanderbilt to pursue a PhD in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences.
