Dear Students,

On the eve of final exams starting Thursday, I am sending some important updates regarding campus study spaces and campus security.

Building Access
Access to buildings will continue to require the use of your EmoryCard ID. Please DO NOT leave doors propped open as that presents a security risk. I ask for all of us as a community to work together on this, especially in light of current events and information released by the University last night regarding campus safety.

Study Spaces
We understand the need for students to seek out quiet study spaces as well as spaces for collaboration. Most College campus buildings will be fully closed at 7 p.m. The following Emory College spaces will remain open until 10 p.m.:

  • Candler Library: 1st floor classrooms. Card access is on the side door of the building facing Callaway.
  • PAIS: 2nd floor classrooms
  • MSC: 2nd floor Lobby and 3rd floor classrooms
  • White Hall: Lobby and classrooms
Please be aware that exams will be taking place in some of these buildings in the evening.  Please respect your classmates by studying quietly and by vacating rooms when they are needed for exams.

ESC & AMUC
The Emory Student Center and AMUC will remain open 24/7 through Wednesday, May 8, for students via card access only.

Emory Libraries
The Woodruff Library will be open 7:30 a.m. - 11 p.m. through Wednesday, May 8, to those with a valid Emory ID. Please check the Emory Libraries website for the hours of other libraries on campus.

Rollins

During normal business hours, undergraduate students are welcome in the Rollins Buildings to study in the common areas from 6:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. Please note the Rollins Buildings are NOT open to non-RSPH students in the evenings.

Exams

Please be sure to check Canvas and be in contact with your professor for any changes regarding final exam formats. Some in-person exams will be changing locations. Your instructor will communicate with you about any changes as soon as possible.
