Emory College of Arts and Sciences began a comprehensive strategic planning process during the 2015-16 academic year to advance the College on its path to becoming an internationally renowned, research-intensive college of arts and sciences that serves as the intellectual and educational centerpiece of one of the world’s top liberal arts research universities.
The process, which involved four faculty working groups, identified key goals and priorities centered on four broad themes:
- Recruit and support a faculty of path-breaking scholars.
- Provide an exceptional education in the liberal arts and sciences.
- Create departments, programs and other scholarly communities of national and international distinction.
- Ensure that Emory College lives up to its vision as an academic community of access and inclusion.
Three ad hoc committees (see below) representing Emory College faculty and administration are working this academic year to more clearly refine and define the pathways needed to meet the ambitious objectives outlined in the current strategic plan draft. A revised plan will be delivered to the Provost in May 2017.
