CFDE Webinar: Contact Tracing

The Center for Faculty Development and Excellence hosted a third webinar on classroom teaching earlier this week, which focused on contact tracing procedures and what we’re learning from Emory’s contact tracing data. View the webinar here. Thus far, the primary source of infection at Emory remains off-campus transmission. Please remind your students to strictly follow COVID-19 protocols and carefully follow best health practices both on and off-campus: wear a face mask, stay home when sick, gather outdoors when possible, and wash hands regularly.

For the latest COVID-19 guidance, policies, and protocols for the university community, please regularly check the Emory Forward website.

Reminder: Guidance for Teaching and Supporting Students in Isolation or Quarantine

The Office of Faculty and the Office for Undergraduate Education have provided all faculty and instructors with guidelines for teaching in-person with students in isolation or quarantine, which includes guidance on who to contact if a student reports to you that they are in isolation or quarantine.

Flu Shot Requirement

This fall, Emory is requiring that all faculty, staff, and students get a flu shot no later than Friday, October 29. This requirement is another important effort in keeping the campus community healthy and minimizing strain on our healthcare systems. See the Emory HR site for details on how to get your shot on and off-campus.

Onsite Flu Clinics: For employees who are working on campus for the Fall semester, onsite flu clinics will be offered October 6 – November 1. This option is only available to those working on campus. To view the schedule and register, go here.

Completing the Attestation Form: Once you have had your flu shot, you will need to complete Emory’s Flu Attestation Form. Complete this form no later than October 29. Individuals who need a medical, religious, or other exemption from the flu shot requirement can select this option on the form.

Open Office Hours for Faculty

Deboleena Roy, Senior Associate Dean for Faculty, will hold open office hours twice a month during the remainder of the semester. OUE Advising Changes

OUE has changed the advising model for all ECAS students. Beginning on September 15, all Emory College students have an assigned advisor. Under the previous model, students were assigned to a small advising team which often meant a student would see different advisors each team they visited OUE. The new model allows for students to build a relationship with a single named OUE advisor. This advisor's name appears for students in OPUS and on College Connect. Faculty and staff can find advisor assignments broken down by international or domestic students, by last name, on the OUE Website.
