Domestic Transient Study (study at other colleges)

Overview

Two students walkingDomestic Transient Study gives Emory College of Arts and Sciences students the opportunity to enroll as a guest at another accredited school in the United States (including Puerto Rico and U.S Virgin Islands) during the summer, while receiving credit toward their Emory degree. Students are eligible for Domestic Transient Study if they are in good academic standing and are either in their freshman year or have fewer than 68 credit hours. Students who submit completed Domestic Transient Study applications by April 15, 2010, will receive a response within three weeks (by Thursday, May 6, 2010, for those who submit applications on April 15). Students may submit transient study applications after this date, but are not guaranteed to receive a response within a three-week timeframe.

International students who are visa holders and would like to take Transient Study overseas must contact the Center for International Programs Abroad (CIPA) at cipa@emory.edu. The center also has specific information about international summer programs on its website. The petition deadline for International Transient Study 2009 is April 15, 2010.

The student has the responsibility to ensure that the Office for Undergraduate Education receives a final copy of his/her academic transcript from the host/visiting school after the transient term.

Details about the Transient Study application process will be available on this webpage in late December 2009 or early January 2010.
