Application Process
SIRE Research Partners are selected by the SIRE committee to become part of a pool of students available to work with research faculty during the next academic year. To apply, students must complete the application process, outlined below.

In about 750-1000 words, please write an essay which addresses the following questions:
- Why are you interested in participating in an undergraduate research program?
- How do you expect that this program will fit with your academic and career goals?
- What skills and characteristics do you bring to the program that will make you an effective undergraduate research assistant?
Your essay will be entered into the allotted space on the application form above.
Email your completed application form to SIRERPP@learnlink.emory.edu by May 21, 2009.
Faculty Recommendation Form (click here to download)
Please download the above form and fill in your information. Save the document, then forward the form to your faculty recommender. Be sure to ask your recommender to complete the form and return to SIRERPP@learnlink.emory.edu by May 21, 2009.
It is particularly helpful if your faculty recommender can talk about your writing ability and/or your research skills. At the very least, you should choose a faculty member who can discuss your work habits and academic performance.
Transcript
An unofficial transcript will be added to your application by the SIRE Director. If you have attended a college or university other than Emory University and your grades do not appear on your Emory transcript, please turn in an official copy of your transcript from the additional college or university.

Notification
Immediately after the application deadline, applications will be prepared for the SIRE committee. Applicants will be notified by email to the email address provided on the Student Information Form. Interviews and assignments to faculty will occur early in the following fall semester.
